Parent Resources
One of the things that we’ve discovered as parents of children in public schools is that every few years, a whole new group of people are trying to find the same information. If you’re lucky, your school might have a great PTA , PTO, PCNC or a group of parents who’ve been in the system for a while and who are willing to show you the ropes. But you might be one of hundreds of parents entering the world of kindergarten for the first time, or high school, or coming to the islands from another state or country. At best, it’s time consuming trying to find all the information you need, and in some cases you might feel like you’re completely reinventing the wheel.
We’re creating a place where parents can come when they want to make informed, intelligent choices for their children. And because part of the mission at HEM is to be a watchdog for public school children, you should find up to date information during the legislative session on all bills relating to education. We hope you can take some time to find out what’s going on in our public schools, and we hope you find what you need in these pages. If you don’t see it here send us an email and we’ll be sure to help you find it.
From fundraisers to changes in education policy, HEM’s goal is to be a resource for all.
And if you feel that you have something valuable to share – please pass it on. We’d love to hear your personal stories of what works in your school and what changes you’d like to see. Join the conversation by posting your story here.
Before you know it, you might be changing the way you think about education.
